Key Responsibilities- Evaluation and Diagnosis: Perform detailed assessments of students' speech and language capabilities to identify areas of strength and weakness.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement customized treatment plans for individual students to address their unique needs and goals.
- Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students with communication disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to enhance student outcomes and ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of students' progress and therapy activities, including progress notes and treatment plans.
- IEP Meetings: Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute to setting and monitoring goals, and to ensure that students' needs are met.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in speech-language pathology, and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active Kansas State License in Speech-Language Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) licensure for Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school setting is advantageous, but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to providing high-quality services to students.
