Job Summary:
The Cardiac ICU Educator is a professional development specialist responsible for facilitating lifelong learning and professional development activities among clinical staff in the Cardiac ICU. This role involves developing, coordinating, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs, competency programs, educational activities, and professional development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult learning theory, instructional design, and clinical experience in the Cardiac ICU.

Responsibilities:

Onboarding and Orientation:
The Cardiac ICU Educator will develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate onboarding and orientation programs for clinical personnel, including transition-to-practice programs for novice or new graduate clinicians.

Competency Management:
The Cardiac ICU Educator will develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate initial and ongoing competency programs for clinical personnel.

Education and Professional Development:
The Cardiac ICU Educator will design, implement, and evaluate educational activities and programs based on identified practice gaps for a specific target audience. The Educator will utilize knowledge of educational theory and adult learning principles to enhance the professional development of clinical personnel.

Collaborative Partnerships:
The Cardiac ICU Educator will consult, advise, teach, and coordinate with other individuals, groups, departments, and/or institutions concerning education and learning.

Requirements:

WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least 3 years of related clinical and/or nursing experience required. Cardiac experience preferred. Documentation of previous teaching experience preferred.

EDUCATION:
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse Required. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required. PALS, PEARS/PACES, and/or NRP if applicable based on specialty area requirements within 6 months after hire. National specialty certification appropriate for area(s) of responsibility preferred.
