Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dental Hygienist to join our team at DCS Clinical. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch patient care and contributing to the success of our innovative private practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming and soothing them, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing experience.
  • Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth, providing a thorough and effective cleaning.
  • Detect disease by conducting oral cancer screenings, examining gums, and using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession.
  • Arrest dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents, helping to prevent future problems.
  • Assist the dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs, and oxygen supply, and having a directory of emergency numbers readily available.
  • Educate patients by providing oral hygiene and plaque control instructions, as well as postoperative instructions, to help them maintain good oral health.
  • Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical and dental histories, and charting in patient records.
  • Ensure the operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs as needed.
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Requirements:

  • Be a Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
