Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled professional to take on the role of Renewable Energy Systems Analyst. This position is integral to the development of forecasting strategies for renewable energy resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and monitor forecasts for renewable energy sources.
  • Maintain and organize databases containing historical and real-time weather data, renewable energy outputs, and relevant economic and demographic information.
  • Analyze and enhance databases to optimize renewable energy forecasting.
  • Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and propose actionable improvements.
  • Formulate hypotheses aimed at enhancing the accuracy of renewable energy forecasts, collaborating with colleagues to research and implement enhancements to forecasting models.
  • Create and deploy new analytical tools and interfaces through programming.
  • Utilize software to refine solar prediction models and assess the outcomes of forecast hypotheses.
  • Validate and enhance the precision of daily solar forecasts.
  • Provide meteorological expertise and forecasting assistance to operational teams and other internal departments as required.
  • Flexibility to work during weekends and outside standard hours is necessary.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fields such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science, Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Engineering, or a related discipline. A degree in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology is preferred.

Experience:
  • This is an entry-level role; however, any relevant pre or post-graduate experience will be viewed positively.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in forecasting weather, load, and renewable resources.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL/Oracle, R-Studio, Python, VBA, or similar is advantageous.
  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBI, alongside data retrieval and manipulation across various database formats.
  • Solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, and probability theory.
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking, pattern recognition, and sound judgment in decision-making processes.
