Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
- Conduct regular patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
- Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders.
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed.
- Document patient information and treatment data accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Successful completion of the organization dialysis training program and CPR certification required.
