Job Overview: Autonomous Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Autonomous Systems Specialist to join our team at Waymo. As an expert in autonomous systems, you will be responsible for developing and deploying deep learning models, including VLMs and LLMs, and collaborating with research teams across Alphabet.

This is a hybrid role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science and experience with deep learning frameworks such as Jax, PyTorch, Tensorflow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy deep learning models, including VLMs and LLMs
  • Develop data mining, labeling, training, and evaluation pipelines to support onboard development
  • Collaborate and work in partnership with research teams across Alphabet

Requirements:
- BS degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline, or an equivalent amount of deep learning experience
- 3+ years experience
- Experience with LLMs or VLMs
- Experience with Python
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as Jax, PyTorch, Tensorflow

Bonus Requirements:
- PhD degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline, or an equivalent amount of deep learning experience
- Publications on top-tier conferences like CVPR/ICCV/ECCV/ICLR/ICML/NeurIPS
- Github repositories or Tech Blogs of LLMs/VLMs
- Experience with C++

Salary Range: $158,000 - $200,000 USD per year
