Autonomous Vehicle Software Developer

At Waymo, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with autonomous driving technology. We're looking for a skilled Autonomous Vehicle Software Developer to join our team and help us achieve our mission to be the most trusted driver. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop and improve machine learning models that assess our autonomous vehicle's behavior, collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring state-of-the-art to production, and build large-scale machine learning and data systems.
About the Role:
- Report into the TLM for the Learned Metrics Team
- Develop and improve ML models that assess our autonomous vehicle's behavior
- Develop ML infrastructure to support robust and performant models
- Collaborate across teams to bring state-of-the-art to production
What You'll Need:
- PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Math or another quantitative area, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience building productionized ML models
- Strong coding and design skills: comfort building production systems (Python / C++)
- Strong background and experience in applied Deep Learning
- A strong track record in improving model quality
Salary Range: $192,000 - $243,000 USD
