Position Overview

Eligibility
This opportunity is open to individuals who are United States Citizens.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Ledger Management**: Maintain, oversee, and reconcile financial ledgers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of funds.
2. **Transaction Processing**: Review and process various financial transactions, including the establishment of new accounting records such as obligations, expenditures, and collections.
3. **Customer Support**: Address routine and complex inquiries from clients or junior staff regarding financial data, discrepancies, and procedural matters.
4. **Data Research**: Investigate current accounts and historical records to provide detailed insights and explanations that may not be readily accessible.
5. **Internal Controls**: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal control measures to safeguard against financial mismanagement.
6. **Additional Duties**: Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense. Applicants must possess relevant financial experience or a degree in a related field such as Finance, Accounting, or Management. A combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Experience Requirements
Applicants should have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, demonstrating the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. Specialized experience includes:
- Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures
- Validation and maintenance of financial transactions
- Reconciliation of ledgers
- Researching and resolving discrepancies

Volunteer Experience
Experience gained through volunteer work, including service programs, will be considered valuable and relevant.

Education
Applicants must have a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Graduate education may substitute for specialized experience when directly related to the position.
