Job Description

Auer Steel & Heating Supply Company is a leading wholesale distributor of HVAC equipment and supplies. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Product Specialist to join our team in Plymouth, MN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in achieving business objectives, sales, and marketing strategies for assigned product lines.
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to create advertising plans, training, and promotional programs related to assigned product lines.
  • Provide pre-sale product application and specification guidance to internal and external customers.
  • Assist in developing sales tools and promotional materials for assigned products and showcase the value and application of our offering.
  • Analyze competitive products and competitive pricing.
  • Confer with buyers regarding stock levels, vendor preseason programs, inventory management, and product updates.
  • Work with the training department to produce employee and customer training materials.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers to provide consistent training annually, based on customer feedback and Auer Steel's field experience.
  • Assist in coordinating vendor joint sales calls with the Auer Steel Sales Team.
  • Work with the Auer Steel ecommerce team to ensure up-to-date data and images are displayed in our webstore.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to maintain price pages for all assigned product lines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with additional higher-level coursework in marketing or purchasing.
  • Requires two to three years' experience in wholesale sales, servicing, and installation of HVAC products.
  • High degree of professionalism and excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional departments.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
