Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in Nassau County. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' physiologic health status and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Conduct patient interviews, explain policies and procedures, and review patient charts to ensure accurate and timely care.
  • Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status, and adjust plans of care as needed.
  • Communicate and document patients' physiologic health status and plan of care to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Evaluate patients' psychosocial health status, elicit perceptions of medical/nursing care, and identify coping mechanisms, knowledge levels, and ability to comprehend.
  • Develop and implement plans of care, establish priorities, and coordinate the cost-effective use of supplies, equipment, and medication.
  • Implement plans of care, maintain constant vigilance over patients' care, and ensure safety precautions are followed.
  • Administer medications correctly and safely, identify medication actions, dosages, side effects, and implications for patients.
  • Participate in patient and family education, provide explanations of patients' conditions, and recognize and utilize health teaching opportunities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and document same.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • BCLS, preferred.
