About the Role

This exciting opportunity will have you working collaboratively with our New Product Development (NPD), Advanced Development (AD), and Sustaining teams to identify and implement new processes. As the lead manufacturing representation on NPD projects, you'll be responsible for owning projects, following established processes, and communicating status and roadblocks with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement advanced process projects, working with ops, design, and other functions as needed
  • Lead Design for Automated Assembly and Design for Manufacturability and Assembly efforts on proposed concepts
  • Apply scientific principles and practices to evaluate alternative processes
  • Work with external integrators to implement automation solutions
  • Contribute as manufacturing lead on New Product Development teams
  • Research and integrate safe, reliable, and cost-effective equipment and processes to ensure products meet established safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Learn and apply basics of project management for manufacturing-based projects to meet cost and timing objectives
  • Learn and apply established Lean Six Sigma tools, identifying when specific tools would be helpful and using them independently
  • Become familiar with Badger Meter's safety policies and apply this knowledge to all projects and equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Certification in or ability to obtain certification in Continuous Improvement required
  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred
