Position Overview

We are currently looking for a full-time Metal Ring Fabrication Specialist for the first shift. This role involves setting up, operating, and managing machinery that bends and expands metal structural shapes, such as bars, strips, and rods, to precise specifications. The position may also involve assisting with other ring fabrication processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and manage machinery that heats and bends metal structural shapes to specified contours.
  • Adjust and calculate machine setups based on written instructions, considering material thickness and bend radius.
  • Inspect and measure materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations and temperatures to identify malfunctions and ensure product quality.
  • Feed metal materials through rolling mechanisms and control feeding mechanisms.
  • Regulate machine controls and speed mechanisms as necessary.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment and ensure all safety equipment is operational before machine use.
  • Perform multiple fabrication methods, including rounding, grinding, forming, heat treating, expanding, and flash welding.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, willingness to work overtime, and ability to follow supervisor directions and company policies.
  • Identify methods to optimize resource utilization, including time, materials, and equipment.
  • Evaluate metal heat-treating and fabrication processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Recognize areas for additional training or certifications to improve job performance.
  • May operate forklifts or other material handling equipment.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, or templates.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including flash welding, MIG/TIG welding, and heat treat furnaces.
  • Capability to monitor and control machine operations effectively.
  • Ability to handle and position materials, including hot components.
  • Quick hand-eye coordination for grasping and manipulating objects.

Qualifications

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; vocational training is advantageous.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred experience in welding and metal fabrication.
