Job Title: Intake Coordinator

Quartz is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team. As an Intake Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and clinic staff, ensuring timely and accurate processing of requests and authorizations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter referrals into the system in a timely and accurate manner, verifying submitted requests are complete and accurate.
  • Provide notification to clinical staff of all requests and hospitalizations requiring further review.
  • Process approval determinations according to written protocols and guidelines, referring any medical questions or potential denial determinations to clinical staff for further review.
  • Provide first-line review of incoming pended claims, researching necessary claim information and consulting with appropriate team members to determine a solution.
  • Provide telephone customer service for members, providers, and other Health System or Quartz staff regarding authorization requests, network provider options, hospitalizations, and claims questions.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience working in the healthcare or health plan environment.
  • Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office and/or Epic.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience in the medical field or health plan preferred.
  • Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic to intermediate MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
