About the Role

This is a hybrid role located in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work closely with various departments and business units to provide expertise and support to internal and external customers. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will enable you to identify and communicate accounting and financial reporting issues to management in a timely and concise manner.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Perform account reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Monitor accounting and financial reporting changes and maintain compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements
  • Partner with various departments and business units to provide expertise and support to internal and external customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including management and external auditors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance) and a minimum of two years' of accounting work experience
  • Experience with GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles and reporting
  • Experience with financial statement analysis, month end closing, and account reconciliations
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening, presentation) and organizational skills (planning, time management, priority management)
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
