OVERVIEW: The role involves delivering comprehensive financial and operational insights to support Kasai North America Inc. This includes the formulation of the annual budget, ongoing reporting, forecasting, variance assessments, and ad hoc analyses. The objective is to equip the executive team with timely and insightful financial data to facilitate informed business analytics and strategic decision-making during key management discussions. All financial documentation must adhere to US GAAP, J GAAP, and/or IFRS standards with minimal oversight, necessitating a robust understanding of US GAAP principles, particularly in relation to corporate performance and standards. A thorough comprehension of financial reports and information is essential for audit-related activities that exceed the Financial Analyst level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Facilitate the development of the production budget in collaboration with relevant departments and all plant locations through Plant Controllers.
- Consolidate, evaluate, and provide recommendations on financial data (budget, forecast, results) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Examine annual and quarterly financial statements to identify key insights regarding financial performance and gaps relative to objectives, including business analytics and insights.
- Analyze workforce, expenses, etc., and prepare business analytics and presentations of financial outcomes monthly for management meetings.
- Evaluate R&D expenditures and generate business analytics of financial results monthly for functional reporting and budget oversight, as well as for management meetings.
- Conduct trend analyses, comparisons, and visual representations as required by management and Kasai Japan for management meetings.
- Craft professional executive-level presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Assist with external audit requirements, including quarterly adjusted trial balances and annual forecasts spanning 1 to 3 years.
- Support the preparation of Mid Term Plan financial statements in accordance with schedules aligned with the Company Strategic Committee.
- Develop related procedures, policies, workflows, instructions, and forms for Financial Planning and Analysis functions.
- Execute special analyses and tasks as assigned by senior management, including IT-related projects.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis is preferred.
- Proficient in computer-based operations (Microsoft Office Intermediate level, Excel Advanced, and PowerPoint) and related software.
- In-depth knowledge of financial and accounting variance calculations.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- High ethical standards in managing confidential financial information.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Occasional travel may be required (approximately 10% of the time).
This position operates within a professional office setting, routinely utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This role is primarily sedentary; however, some filing may be necessary, requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as needed.
