Position Overview - $1,500 Sign-On Bonus

The Senior Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care within designated clinical settings. This position involves assisting with patient assessments, medical procedures, diagnostic evaluations, treatment protocols, and dressing modifications. Additionally, the role encompasses various administrative responsibilities in compliance with established healthcare standards and organizational policies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient visit documentation based on scheduled appointments, ensuring that diagnostic results, urgent care reports, discharge summaries, and consult reports are readily available in the medical record for provider access.
  • Conduct rooming procedures for patient visits, adhering to documented criteria, including chief complaints, allergies, vital signs, medication reviews, tobacco history, and health maintenance documentation.
  • Accurately obtain and record age and condition-specific measurements, including vital signs, height, weight, and other relevant metrics.
  • Perform and document tests such as hearing, vision, respiratory assessments, and ECGs.
  • Administer and document specific screenings based on patient needs, including mental health and respiratory evaluations.
  • Collect, document, and process specimens following appropriate protocols and equipment guidelines.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing with precision and accuracy.
  • Execute venipuncture procedures as necessary and manage specimen processing in accordance with established policies.
  • Administer medications and immunizations through various routes, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage medication prescription refills according to established guidelines using appropriate communication methods.
  • Oversee prior authorization processes for medications and procedures, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintain clinical supplies and medication samples, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and inventory levels.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is mandatory.
  • Experience: Preferred experience of one to three years in a medical assistant role.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant Certification/ABR-OE is highly recommended.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with computer systems and electronic medical records is preferred.
