Position Overview

Incentive: $1,500 Sign-On Bonus

The Senior Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care across various clinical settings. This position involves assisting with patient assessments, medical procedures, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment protocols, while adhering to established healthcare standards and organizational policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient charts for daily appointments, ensuring all necessary documentation, including diagnostic results and medical reports, is readily available for the healthcare provider.
  • Conduct rooming procedures for patient visits, accurately documenting vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Measure and record age-appropriate health metrics, including vital signs, height, weight, and other specific assessments.
  • Administer and document various diagnostic tests, including hearing, vision, respiratory assessments, and ECGs.
  • Conduct specific health screenings as required, such as mental health evaluations and respiratory assessments.
  • Collect and process patient specimens using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Perform point-of-care testing with precision and accuracy.
  • Execute venipuncture procedures when necessary and manage specimen processing in accordance with established protocols.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations through various routes as indicated.
  • Manage prescription refills following established guidelines and document all actions appropriately.
  • Oversee prior authorization processes for medications and treatments, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and medication samples, ensuring proper storage and labeling.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is mandatory.
  • Experience: Preferred experience of one to three years in a medical assistant role.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant Certification/ABR-OE is highly recommended.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with computer systems and electronic medical records is preferred.
