Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Psychiatric Technician Instructor to join our team at Kern Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Psychiatric Technician program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess student learning outcomes in the Psychiatric Technician program
  • Develop and implement curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities
  • Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • Maintain subject matter currency and stay current with industry developments
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a valid, active license as a California Registered Nurse or Psychiatric Technician, or any Bachelor's degree in nursing and two years of professional experience, or any Associate's degree in nursing and two years of professional experience, or the equivalent. A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students is also required.
