Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the Porterville Developmental Center. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing safe, clean, and home-like environments for residents of an assigned group of forensic clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to clients with mental health needs, including behavioral management training and supervision.
  • Assist clients in developing and utilizing their potential for self-care and activities of daily living.
  • Participate in the rehabilitation/habilitation treatment program, including care and supervision of clients.
  • Work extended hours and various shifts, including mandatory overtime, as needed.
  • Float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so.
Requirements
  • Current valid Psychiatric Technician license issued by the BVNPTE.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance and participate in client containment, intervention, or restraint.
