Job Summary:

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a skilled Fryer/Peeler Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in a Weekend Day shift role. This position will work on our NEW Weekend Day crew, requiring Saturday-Sunday 6AM-6PM shifts with opportunities to flex up to 40 hours Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate fryer equipment to produce high-quality chips, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
  • Prepare fryer and associated components for startup, adhering to established procedures.
  • Monitor equipment performance and product continuously throughout production, reporting any unusual occurrences or product rejections to the supervisor.
  • Maintain proper levels of output and quality, ensuring accurate and complete records and log sheets.
  • Carry out daily equipment shut down and cleaning procedures, adhering to sanitation protocols.
  • Perform weekly sanitation procedures on fryer and related equipment, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Change and set blades as required, maintaining equipment efficiency.
  • Work as a peeler/fryer operator when cross-training other operators, promoting a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and work safely at all times, reporting any unsafe equipment or practices to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate proactively with diverse groups of people, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in all sanitation activities to maintain, clean, and safeguard equipment and facilities used for food product packaging and processing.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of production flow, operating procedures, and sanitation protocols.
  • Some knowledge of machinery is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Constant attention to potato flow to avoid slowing production.
  • Able to work in a warm to hot work environment.
  • Able to pay great attention to detail.
  • Requires own reliable transportation to the worksite.
