Job Summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a skilled Fryer/Peeler Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in a Weekend Day role. This position will work on our NEW Weekend Day crew, requiring Saturday-Sunday 6AM-6PM shifts with opportunities to volunteer on weekdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate fryer equipment to produce high-quality chips.
  • Prepare fryer and associated components for startup and ensure proper functioning.
  • Monitor equipment performance and product quality continuously throughout production.
  • Maintain optimal output and quality levels, reporting any unusual occurrences or product rejections to the supervisor.
  • Perform daily equipment shutdown and cleaning procedures.
  • Record and maintain accurate, complete, and legible operation records and log sheets.
  • Conduct weekly sanitation procedures on fryer and related equipment.
  • Change and set blades as required.
  • Assist in cross-training other operators as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and work safely at all times.
  • Report any unsafe equipment or practices to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate proactively with diverse teams to achieve production goals.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Participate in sanitation activities to maintain equipment and facilities used for food product packaging and processing.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of production flow, operating procedures, and sanitation protocols.
  • Some knowledge of machinery is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Attention to detail to avoid slowing production.
  • Ability to work in a warm to hot environment.
  • Reliable transportation to the worksite.
