Power Equipment Battery Specialist

BATTERY TECHNICIAN
General Overview:
2nd Shift - Monday through Friday 3pm - 11:30pm
Responsible for the maintenance and replacement of powered equipment batteries as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all material handling equipment batteries are adequately serviced for optimal performance and replaced when required.
- Conducts brake tests following each battery replacement.
- Adheres to work orders to achieve productivity goals.
- Expands knowledge of various systems.
- Communicates effectively with team members to reduce potential equipment downtime.
- Ensures that workmanship meets the highest standards.
- Completes the daily P.I.T. checklist to verify equipment functionality and reports any issues to management or maintenance.
- Operates P.I.T. safely.
- Follows established safety protocols to enhance personal safety.
- Keeps a tidy work area and fosters a safe working environment in collaboration with the Maintenance department.
- Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma preferred.
Experience: Basic mechanical skills and general understanding of electrical safety procedures are required. 3-6 months of maintenance experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of performing essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. The Team Member should possess sufficient physical fitness to handle frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping, and kneeling. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be utilized as per Distribution Center requirements.
Working Environment: The Team Member will operate in a non-climate-controlled setting, where external weather conditions significantly influence the building's temperature, although fans and heaters are utilized. The Team Member may also work outside, exposing them to varying weather conditions. Additionally, there may be exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.
Availability: The Team Member will be required to work shifts and must be open to overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
