The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join its team. As a key member of the Human Support Services Cluster, this position will play a critical role in enhancing the fiscal and financial stability, accountability, and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate recordation of agency Fixed/Capital assets in the system
  • Develop and implement financial reports
  • Provide expert advice on accounting operations, processes, and systems
  • Develop internal controls to improve operating program effectiveness and efficiency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on financial operations and analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with 24 semester hours in accounting
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and auditing laws, regulations, and policies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
