CAT Scan Technologist

We are seeking a skilled CAT Scan Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures.
Utilizing computerized tomography (CT) scanners, the technologist will produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
The ideal candidate will accurately interpret physicians' scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic and CT procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Utilize imaging and peripheral equipment in a safe and productive manner, adhering to prescribed hospital, departmental, and manufacturers' procedures.
- Independently implement patient procedures, explaining the process and equipment to the patient clearly.
- Confer with other technologists concerning previous approaches utilized and solve problems that arise during patient examinations.
- Perform visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment and report any malfunctions or missing/damaged equipment.
Requirements:
To qualify for this role, you must have a Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services. A New York State Radiologic Technologist License and Advanced Certification in CT are also required within one year of hire or transfer. Additionally, you should possess strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills, as well as basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
