We are seeking a highly skilled Cat Scan Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Cat Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures, utilizing computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Perform filming of optimum quality and archive data, utilizing efficient methods to complete examinations in a reasonable amount of time.
- Accurately interpret physicians' scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT scan equipment, and position patients to capture the appropriate images.
- Independently implement patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, explaining procedures and equipment to patients clearly and providing for patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
- Effectively assess patients' information and status, following appropriate procedures accordingly, and utilizing standard procedures to identify the correct patient.
- Perform various test procedures to evaluate operation of CT equipment, such as phantom images and air calibrations, and observe and report any malfunctioning of equipment.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certificate from accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- New York State license Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) and with IV Contrast Certification within 3 months of employment
- Advance Certification in Computerized Tomography
