Electrical Engineer Job Description

Rimkus Consulting is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer at Rimkus, you will be responsible for providing forensic consulting services, investigating and analyzing electrical failures and damages, and providing expert testimony.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and analyze electrical system defects and equipment failures
  • Prepare oral and written reports to document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation
  • Provide expert testimony in litigation matters
  • Manage multiple projects, coordinating with other experts and supporting as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Rimkus policies and procedures, including safe work requirements
Requirements:
  • B.S. Electrical Engineering required
  • P.E. License required
  • 2-10+ years of experience
  • Field experience highly preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • High level of analytical skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate with clients at all levels
  • Knowledge of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and computer-assisted engineering and design software
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical reports or journals
Physical Demands, Overtime, and Travel:
  • Work will be performed in an office setting and at outside locations, requiring frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, and lifting
  • Overtime may be required to meet the demands of the position
  • Up to 25% travel may be required, including out-of-area and overnight travel
