The Hydraulic Engineer is a specialist responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of hydraulic systems. This role involves working with various components, including pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, and filters, to engineer systems that power Simmons machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing hydraulic systems tailored to specific project needs
  • Conducting research aimed at enhancing existing hydraulic systems
  • Selecting suitable components such as pumps, valves, and motors
  • Testing hydraulic systems to verify their safety, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Diagnosing and resolving hydraulic system issues
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on hydraulic systems
  • Collaborating with fellow engineers to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Offering technical assistance to clients and team members
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in hydraulic technology and industry developments
  • Evaluating the feasibility, efficiency, and safety of hydraulic power applications
  • Analyzing fluid dynamics, pressure, and velocity in hydraulic systems to identify potential challenges and solutions
  • Executing any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred)
  • Relevant experience in hydraulic system design and development
  • In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, physics, and mathematics
  • Capability to design and develop hydraulic systems
  • Familiarity with hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, motors, and cylinders
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Attention to detail and time management skills
