Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Officer to join our team at the University of California, Santa Barbara. As an Associate Director of Development, you will play a key role in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects to support the priorities of the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute individual prospect strategies to maximize philanthropic support
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects starting at $25,000
  • Manage an annual giving program and develop donor appeals
  • Develop online and social media giving strategies
  • Collaborate with the HFA Development team to implement a program plan that prioritizes and coordinates all assigned fundraising efforts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 1-3 years of direct development experience or other relevant professional experience in higher education
  • Proven success in fundraising, sales, or related business field
  • Persuasive verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues, partners, and the public
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience working with donor database or CRM software
  • Understanding of building professional relationships and articulating programmatic objectives with clarity and passion
