About the Role

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our heavy civil infrastructure projects from pre-construction to completion. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing overall leadership and successful delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and leadership to ensure the successful delivery of projects, including development of project management plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Foster a positive health and safety culture, identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Project Controls: Ensure accurate reporting of project financial results, manage costs and quantity tracking, and maintain project metric reporting.
  • Team Management: Provide leadership to project staff, including establishment of performance expectations, constructive feedback, and on-the-job training.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement effective project quality control and quality assurance plans to ensure work is constructed in compliance and accurately documented.
  • Financial Management: Manage financial processes, including timely applications for payment, prompt payment schedules, and maintenance of positive cash flow.
  • Project Close-out: Manage project close-out, including timely management of punch lists, commissioning, and transitional system operations turnover.
Requirements
  • Education: Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in heavy civil construction, with comprehensive understanding of civil construction industry practices and standards.
  • Attributes: Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles, team player with strong interpersonal skills, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
