Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting visual inspections and dimensional checks on various products, including machine parts, assemblies, and completed products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform first run, floor, and final inspections to ensure products meet required standards and manufacturing specifications.
  • Operate precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, in a shop environment.
  • Review material certifications and inspect documents required on purchased materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to final product build sheets.
  • Complete required reports and quality documents.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft programs and possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials for suitability for machining.
  • Conduct non-destructive testing of parts using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Monitor hydrostatic pressure and seat leakage tests.
  • Use precision measuring and inspection instruments, equipment, and gauges to conduct precision inspections and/or tests.
  • Perform required computations to check measurements.
  • Operate fork trucks, cranes, and power equipment.
  • Complete required identification of parts and material, marking parts with numbers and associated identification requirements.
  • Investigate and close-out of all Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Display the appropriate initiative, flexibility, and responsiveness to satisfy customer requests within the guidelines of the company performance objectives and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of previous experience as an inspector of manufactured components or equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, capable of calculating basic mathematical functions, including computation of rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical machining and assembly drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret bills of materials, parts lists, and material specifications.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to present effective information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the company.
  • Experience in a working style that is team-oriented and values communication, participation, and involvement of others.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required, including possible extended workdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock when in the shop area to inspect valves.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (office/cubicle environment with computers, fax machines, and printers operating) to loud (manufacturing environment with large machinery operating).
