Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly proficient Electrician Journeyman to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in electrical systems, including instrumentation and control systems. As an Electrician Journeyman, you will be tasked with the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of emergency power systems, electrical systems, UPS systems, and various electrical equipment, fixtures, tools, and appliances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, modify, maintain, and repair emergency power systems, electrical systems, UPS systems, and a diverse range of electrical equipment, fixtures, tools, and appliances, including single and three-phase systems with varying voltages.
  • Diagnose issues, malfunctions, or design modifications in emergency power systems, electrical systems, or electrical equipment.
  • Interpret and follow work schedules, directions, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and manufacturer manuals to effectively complete assigned projects.
  • Review documentation and blueprints from external contractors, architects, and engineers to assist in contract development.
  • Inspect the work of external contractors to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Plan installation, modification, and repair projects while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues in other trades.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Conduct predictive, preventive, and responsive maintenance on all plant electrical devices.
  • Assemble and install conduit, outlets, panels, junction boxes, and perform necessary wiring.
  • Test, calibrate, repair, rebuild, maintain, modify, or install electrical equipment as required.
  • Take on operational responsibilities during peak processing seasons.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Sacramento City Certified Electrical course / Electrician License holder.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical equipment functionality, high and low voltages, electrical theory, power generation, and switchgear maintenance.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems and their interfaces with plant equipment.
  • Familiar with lock-out/tag-out procedures and maintain a strong safety orientation.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Able to read and interpret bills of material, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Capable of producing single-line diagrams for construction purposes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and achieve objectives without supervision.
  • Strong initiative to coordinate tasks with others.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to reside within the Sacramento Metropolitan Region.
