Position Overview

As a Clinical Quality Improvement Nurse, you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care quality through your clinical expertise and analytical skills. You will be responsible for transforming data from various healthcare registries into actionable insights aimed at improving patient outcomes. Collaborating with leadership and clinical experts, you will focus on identifying, analyzing, and enhancing key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and develop performance improvement plans by monitoring quality data and national reports.
  • Assist in defining relevant benchmarks for processes and patient outcomes, including data collection methods and performance dashboards.
  • Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to foster effective working relationships that enhance performance and quality outcomes.
  • Ensure that quality and patient safety standards are integrated into existing processes and the development of new systems.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to provide and review departmental quality measures and reports for improvement opportunities.
  • Organize a Quality Meeting that utilizes data analysis from multiple sources to drive departmental quality improvement initiatives.
  • Generate reports, graphs, and visual data representations from various organizational databases to communicate insights effectively.
  • Support the department in establishing a standardized approach to address quality issues.
  • Serve as the primary contact for quality-related data and reporting.
  • Conduct clinical reviews using diverse sources, including medical records and incident reports, to monitor quality performance and improvement efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with various clinical disciplines and physician advisors to clarify criteria and summarize findings.
  • Identify potential quality and safety concerns related to patient care and lead clinical quality improvement projects based on evidence-based best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required within 24 months of hire.
  • Active RN Licensure in the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare quality management and performance improvement.
  • Strong clinical background with proficiency in medical terminology, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Certification or training in quality improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with medical staff and colleagues.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks independently to meet deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to drive measurable quality improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Proficient in utilizing technical skills to create informative reports and visual data presentations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality scorecarding and benchmarking.
  • Commitment to promoting patient safety in complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint; Access and Visio preferred.
