Job Title: Principal Clerk Food Service

Haverhill Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clerk Food Service to join our team. As a key member of our Food Service Department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient operation of our food service programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for Food Service staff
  • Provide administrative support to maintain a filing system for financial documents and ensure confidentiality and security of financial files
  • Assume shared responsibility for clerical functions in the Food Service Department
  • Make and receive telephone calls, take messages, and route calls to appropriate office staff
  • Assist in preparing district, state, and federal reports as needed
  • Display ethical and professional behavior in communicating and working with staff
  • Exercise discretion in protecting and releasing confidential information and interpreting and administering policies and procedures
  • Inventory departmental supplies and materials with approval from Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations and Food Service Director
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and efficient office environment
  • Display strong, positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with co-workers, students, administrators, parents/guardians, visitors, and the community
  • Track and maintain staff attendance records for Food Service employees
  • Write grant proposals and process if awarded
  • Process meal claims with DESE
  • Maintain knowledge on current USDA regulations
Requirements:
  • High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in financial field preferred
  • Minimum of three years accounting experience in public and/or municipal environment preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and organizational skills; bilingual preferred
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency
  • Experience with InfiniteVisions and SchoolBrains preferred
  • Experience with Excel required
  • Ability to daily plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment and adhere to mandated deadlines
