Job Title: Organ Donation Coordinator

DonorConnect is a federally designated nonprofit community service organization dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissues for life-saving transplants. We are seeking a full-time Organ Donation Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary

The Organ Donation Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of organ recovery, including completing on-call functions, allocating, recovering, preserving, packaging, and transporting organs for research and transplant. The successful candidate will also respond to referrals, adhere to regulatory requirements, and complete documentation. Additionally, they will meet donor family needs and manage donors, complete case follow-up tasks, referral and case documentation, personal expense reports, and other administrative tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Complete on-call functions and be responsible for the allocation, recovery, preservation, packaging, and transportation of organs for research and transplant
  • Respond to referrals and adhere to regulatory requirements
  • Complete documentation and meet donor family needs and manage donors
  • Complete case follow-up tasks, referral and case documentation, personal expense reports, and other administrative tasks as necessary
Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Must be a licensed Registered Nurse or have a minimum of 5 years prior experience working as a clinical donation coordinator at an OPO
  • Completion of NATCO introductory course within one year of hire
  • Successful completion of CPTC after one year and before two years of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a critical care nurse and/or a minimum of 5 years prior experience as a clinical donation coordinator at an OPO
  • Knowledge of the organ and tissue transplant fields
  • Understanding of the critical care environment
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software
