Position Overview
We are in search of a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) who thrives in a dynamic hospital environment.
In this role, you will deliver exceptional nursing care to pediatric patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to various age groups, while embracing family-centered principles and ensuring cost-effective practices.
Your responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing patient data from medical records to facilitate coordinated care.

- Critical care experience is essential
- Pediatric experience is preferred
- Full-time availability is required
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct and document comprehensive assessments of patients and their families, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs in a systematic manner.
- Analyze clinical situations, anticipate potential complications, and identify changes in patient status.
- Adjust and update care plans based on new information and changes in the patient's condition, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team and accurate documentation.
- Engage in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences, documenting relevant information in medical records.
- Support patients and families in their roles within the care plan as appropriate.
- Assess learning needs, capabilities, preferences, and readiness to learn prior to providing education.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, families, visitors, peers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer and document medications and treatments promptly.
- Show a commitment to acquiring new knowledge and skills to enhance individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving unit performance.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing, an associate's degree, or a technical diploma in nursing, with current enrollment in a BSN program or a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Valid RN License from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact.
- CPR certification - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, strong time and resource management, flexibility, and excellent oral and written communication skills, along with knowledge of unit-specific equipment and the nursing process.
