Role Summary:

The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for assisting clients in selecting and purchasing products.

Supervisory Duties:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcomes and engages with customers.
  • Consults with clients to identify their needs and preferences regarding available products.
  • Demonstrates and clarifies product features, recommending options that align with customer requirements.
  • Highlights product attributes, provides pricing information, and prepares sales documentation.
  • Retrieves requested items from the sales area and/or warehouse; places special orders as necessary.
  • Establishes and nurtures customer relationships by entering new client information and sales data into a database.
  • Assists customers in addressing complaints, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Investigates and resolves customer inquiries related to products or services.
  • Accurately operates the cash register using various input methods.
  • Processes payments in cash, checks, or credit/debit cards for purchases.
  • Handles returns and exchanges in accordance with company policy.
  • Assists with inventory management, including stocking and organizing products on shelves.
  • Performs additional related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating equipment such as cash registers and scanners.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and refunds.
  • Familiarity with building materials and local regulations.
  • Knowledge of the company's offerings and customer service policies.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of on-the-job training, including levels 1 and 2 of the provided training program.
Physical Demands:
  • Extended periods of standing and working on computers or related equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting/moving of up to 80 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks over extended periods.
