Job Overview

Position: Assistant Store Manager (ASM)

Reports To: Store Manager (SM), General Manager/Area Manager (AM/GM)

POSITION SUMMARY

As an Assistant Store Manager (ASM), you will be instrumental in aiding the Store Manager to ensure efficient store operations and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced retail environment or equivalent retail training experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-focused setting with a results-oriented mindset
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Competence in computer applications, especially Microsoft Office
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screenings may be necessary depending on location
  • Relevant certifications such as TAM Card and additional security clearances may be mandated in specific areas

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support sales initiatives and guide Customer Service Associates (CSAs) to improve sales outcomes
  • Oversee store opening and closing operations
  • Collaborate closely with the Store Manager to ensure financial controls are maintained, uphold a tidy store environment, and set a positive example for sales personnel
  • Contribute to the development of a high-performing sales team by ensuring staff engagement and knowledge, as well as appropriate coverage on the sales floor
  • Conduct supervisory duties including coaching team members and onboarding new staff
  • Engage with managers and buyers regarding merchandise suitability and popularity
  • Effectively utilize store software systems and assist in meeting Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and foster customer loyalty
  • Assist with inventory management and merchandising tasks
  • Handle customer interactions with professionalism and attentiveness

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May be required to work a six-day week with potential overtime during busy periods
