KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager or a designated supervisor, the role involves delivering individual, group, and family therapy, including in-home sessions and transportation of youth. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a designated caseload of foster care youth and their biological families, utilizing various therapeutic modalities.
  • Regularly developing and reviewing Mental Health Assessments and Treatment Plans in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of child and adolescent development, as well as trauma exposure and its effects.
  • Implementing strategies that promote healing and recovery while minimizing the risk of re-traumatization.
  • Engaging with caregivers and family members to discuss the strengths and challenges faced by program participants.
  • Facilitating clinical staffing meetings to provide guidance to treatment team members.
  • Collaborating with treatment teams and families to complete assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Acting as a liaison to external agencies, including DCFS, to communicate treatment goals and progress.
  • Coordinating with community programs to meet the needs of youth.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Participating in medication reviews and supporting psychiatric hospitalizations as needed.
  • Utilizing active listening and reflective skills to foster a respectful and empathetic environment.
  • Upholding confidentiality and ensuring a safe space for all participants.
  • Attending trauma-informed training sessions to enhance professional competencies.
  • Maintaining an organized electronic calendar for tracking daily activities.
  • Engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, with LSW or LPC upon hire and one year of relevant experience; LCSW or LCPC preferred.
  • Experience working with youth and families affected by trauma is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of youth development and a strength-based approach is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
