Job Overview

M.S. Walker is actively seeking a Maintenance Technician/Merge Operator who will oversee the secure and effective functioning of automated distribution systems while prioritizing safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will exhibit expertise in operating all packaging and distribution machinery and possess the capability to troubleshoot and manage industrial equipment.

Available Shift: Third shift: Monday-Thursday 8:00 pm - 6:00 am

* Bonus Structure: $300 after 30 calendar days, $400 after 60 calendar days, and $500 upon joining the Union (estimated 4 months of employment)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure consistent achievement of daily distribution targets.
  • Set up and manage all automated distribution line machinery.
  • Initiate, transition, and conclude distribution lines, including finalizing packaging shifts.
  • Conduct preventative and light industrial maintenance on automated systems.
  • Diagnose issues with automated distribution equipment.
  • Guide General Workers on best practices for distribution lines.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
  • Calculate wave cut-offs and monitor production metrics.
  • Organize routine daily maintenance of machinery and document all maintenance concerns.
  • Engage in and welcome ongoing innovation and enhancements.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience with automated industrial distribution systems.
  • Willingness to work overtime or modify work hours based on operational needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of automated industrial distribution systems.
  • Thorough understanding of all distribution line standard operating procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.
  • Leadership skills are advantageous.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Exceptional multitasking skills.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comfortable working outdoors and maintaining an active role.
  • Frequent stair climbing and occasional work on platforms below 20 ft.
  • Capable of lifting heavy items up to 50 lbs.
