Insurance Analyst Job Description

JLL is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Analyst to join its Escrow Operations team. As an Insurance Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all loans are compliant with applicable lender insurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review new loan and insurance documents to ensure proper setup in the servicing system and complete a thorough insurance review.
  • Obtain insurance renewal information, invoices, and/or paid receipts and policies from agents, borrowers, and management companies within specified timeframes.
  • Ensure insurance coverage is in place for all assigned loans per Lender guidelines.
  • Process insurance premium invoices in the loan servicing system and contact borrowers to collect shortages, as needed.
  • Analyze insurance renewal information to ensure compliance with investor insurance requirements, including complete policy review.
  • Prepare insurance waivers for non-compliant insurance issues and submit for management and/or Lender approval.
  • Monitor insurance compliance for the life of the loan, including insurance reviews for properties with mid-term policy changes or changes resulting from an ownership or management transfer.
  • Monitor and update various reports and certifications utilized by lenders and leadership to analyze portfolio risk.
  • Communicate escrow issues and coordinate resolution with servicing staff.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote).
  • Strong time management skills and ability to operate under demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work on several transactions simultaneously.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze risk.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technology.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to audit own work.
  • Ability to work independently, unsupervised, and as a team player.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Equivalent work experience in Insurance, Commercial Mortgage Banking, or Loan Servicing (minimum 2 years).
  • Experience with PrecisionLM loan servicing software is a plus.
