Key Responsibilities- Lead Veteran Programs and Services
- Oversee the development and implementation of specialized veteran care and services in a post-acute care setting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective program implementation and growth.
- Build relationships with programmatic partners to enhance program capacity and reach.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of program initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements as needed.
- Coordinate Veteran Recognition Events
- Oversee the planning and execution of events and activities that honor and recognize the contributions of veterans and their families.
- Maintain a comprehensive annual schedule of events, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made.
- Engage in Community Outreach
- Develop and deliver presentations about veteran programs to various groups, including veteran service organizations, community groups, and military installations.
- Foster relationships with veterans and their families, facilitating connections and support.
- Engage in Business Development
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and communication strategies to promote veteran programs and services.
- Establish and maintain relationships with VA Hospitals, providers, and affiliate offices, identifying opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Develop and maintain quarterly business development plans and market analysis, ensuring that the organization remains competitive and effective in its mission to serve veterans.
- Perform Other Related Activities
- Participate in various activities and initiatives as assigned or requested, ensuring that the organization's commitment to serving veterans is upheld.
- Strong Familiarity with Veteran Resources
- Must have a deep understanding of the complex and ongoing issues facing veterans, including access to resources and benefits.
- Experience Working with Veterans
- Must have experience working with the military and veteran population, including knowledge of post-acute and long-term care services.
- Education and Experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical social work, nursing, or veteran healthcare-related field.
- Business development experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a strong understanding of post-acute and long-term care services, as well as veteran support services.
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with team members, other staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
