Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Associate to join our team at Sharp HealthCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Interprofessional Teams: Work closely with licensed nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Coordinate Patient Data Management: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including transcription, order entry, and medical record management.
  • Support Clinical Operations: Assist with equipment management, supply chain coordination, and other departmental tasks to optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop Clinical Competencies: Under supervision, perform higher-level competencies such as EKG, lift team mobilization, integrative therapy, or other specialized skills.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Less than 1 year of related clinical experience, with a focus on patient care and support services.
  • Certifications and Training: AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on healthcare-related courses or certifications.
  • Experience and Skills: 1 year of experience as a unit clerk or secretary in an acute care setting, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions
  • Clinical Competency: Demonstrate proficiency in basic patient care skills and ability to perform tasks under the guidance of licensed nurses.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Admissions, Discharge, and Transfer Responsibilities: Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
  • Patient Care Activities: Participate in patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Safety: Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to Sharp HealthCare's safety policies and procedures.
  • Medical Record/Information Management: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including medical records and communication with healthcare teams.
  • Equipment and Supplies: Assist with equipment management, supply chain coordination, and other departmental tasks to optimize resource utilization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Basic Patient Care Skills: Demonstrate understanding of basic patient care skills, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Effective Interpersonal Skills: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Ability to Perform Baseline Resident/Patient Care Skills: Demonstrate ability to perform tasks under the guidance of licensed nurses, including EKG, lift team mobilization, integrative therapy, or other specialized skills.
  • Fluent Knowledge of English: Possess strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
