About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team at Pacific Life. This is a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work both in and out of the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute daily, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting, including processing and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of results to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
  • Prepare and review various financial reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory financial statements, compliance requests, and internal management requests.
  • Develop and present financial analysis and insights to management, including preparation of fluctuation analysis of quarterly results and utilization of data visualizations and data-driven insights.
  • Prepare technical accounting transaction and policy memos.
  • Maintain and support an effective control environment to provide reliable financial reporting.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, including automation of existing manual processes, business process redesign, and acceleration of the accounting close process.
  • May lead functional teams or projects.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis and accounting.
  • Solid understanding of financial statement risks and controls.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet and manage responsibilities under tight time frames.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and receive minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA certification.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience with financial software and systems.
