At Air Products, we are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning and Startup Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing commissioning and startup leadership support to new plants, retrofit projects, and turnarounds from development to start-up.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide and maintain a safe work environment for self and others.
- Employ good housekeeping methods and demonstrate leadership with all company and industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for safety-related activities.
- Commission and startup units as prescribed by Work Instruction Procedures.
- Develop work processes and strategy for field construction and commissioning of rotating equipment.
- Understand PLC and DCS controls, logic, PID tuning, and advanced control systems.
- Lead and provide commissioning support in new installation, existing plant modifications, on-going operations, and continuous improvement and maintenance activities for the facilities in the Region.
- Ensure activities related meet legal requirements and comply with Air Products safety and operations standards.
- Mentor site operations and engineering teams in managing plant production efficiently based on input provided from Plant Management and Plant Process Engineering to ensure safety and reliability targets are met to achieve maximum profitability.
- Engineering graduate (bachelor's in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering as a minimum preferred).
- 12 years of Operations, Commissioning, Startup or Engineering in a technical or plant role.
- Demonstrated 'hands-on' ability to operate, commission, startup, troubleshoot, and repair various plant-related issues.
- Experience and knowledge in the technology, design, and operation of Hydrogen Electrolyzers, Chloro-Alkali, and/or PEM process.
- Knowledge in additional technologies a plus: Air Separation, HYCO, Gasification, Sulphur Recovery & Helium process systems preferred.
- Strong background in all aspects of operating facilities including machinery, instrumentation and controls, electrical, mechanical systems, and advanced controls across multiple technologies.
- Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, interpret design curves of field machinery, & function checking of field equipment.
- Field construction and commissioning experience desired.
- Knowledgeable in process safety, health, and local environmental requirements.
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building, and diversity.
