Role Summary

The Commissioning Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering all aspects of facility start-up, commissioning, testing, and handover to operations for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and commissioning experience with complex energy projects. They will be responsible for coordinating and technically supervising all commissioning activities to bring BESS facilities from the end of construction into fully safe, stable, and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a Commissioning Plan for the completion of startup, commissioning, and testing activities
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure all required submittals are made and reviews are completed in a timely manner
  • Review all relevant QA/QC documentation during project construction to identify issues and adjust the Commissioning Plan
  • Work with the project stakeholders to ensure the projects are properly closed out, and issues/claims are addressed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in management, engineering, science, or technology related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years working experience with a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience related to the development, design, and construction of complex energy/electrical projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead, manage, and direct multi-discipline teams during the commissioning phase of a BESS or other complex electrical project
