At Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., we are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning and Startup Technician Lead to join our team. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for providing electrical commissioning and startup leadership for new plants, retrofit projects, and turnarounds.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, maintenance, and testing, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the electrical operations or commissioning field. They will also have a broad knowledge of technologies supported, electrical standards, electrical safety systems, and engineering and operating procedures.

The Electrical Commissioning and Startup Technician Lead will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient construction and startup of various technologies, including Hydrogen Steam Methane Reforming (SMR), cryogenic Air Separation (ASU), Partial Oxidation, Hydrogen Electrolysis, cryogenic Syngas, Ammonia, and others.

The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and construction. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of electrical distribution system equipment, electrical testing and procedures, and national testing standards (NETA).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing electrical commissioning and startup leadership for new plants, retrofit projects, and turnarounds
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient construction and startup of various technologies
  • Leading and providing support and guidance during the construction and commissioning of plants
  • Ensuring documentation for all commissioning activities is maintained and submitted via completions database
  • Monitoring quality assurance initiatives during the commissioning and startup phase

The successful candidate will be required to complete an 8-week training and qualification process to achieve the Air Products QEC title.
