Position Overview

The Administrative Graduate Assistant will work under the guidance of a faculty member within the Department of Counseling & Educational Leadership. This role is integral to the academic and operational functions of the department, providing support in various capacities as outlined by the supervising faculty and graduate advisor.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the front desk representative for the Counseling Center
  • Supporting recruitment efforts for Counseling & Educational Leadership programs
  • Assisting with accreditation processes
  • Participating in departmental meetings and training sessions
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Experience in customer service is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with a university setting
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Technical Proficiency

Working Conditions

Compensation and Benefits

Graduate Assistants are eligible for a tuition waiver, a non-resident tuition waiver (if applicable), and a waiver for mandatory fees. These benefits are structured as reductions in the student’s account rather than direct payments.
