Electrical Engineer Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater treatment projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities.
  • Prepare contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects.
  • Apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to electrical engineering industry.
  • Engage in quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in the water market.
  • Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clients.
  • Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor's request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations.
  • Mentor junior staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered California professional electrical engineer with ability to reciprocate as needed.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience related to water industry in electrical engineering role.
  • Experience in designing and delivering municipal water and wastewater treatment projects via different delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build, or other alternatives) a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of AGi32 or Visual Lighting Software.
  • Working knowledge of SKM or ETAP.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience working with Permitting review agencies.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and NFPA 820.
  • Familiarity with IEEE color book series.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision.
