Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Substation EIT to join our rapidly growing team. As an integral part of our team, you'll work on a variety of exciting projects, preparing engineering designs for substation projects ranging from simple device replacements to large greenfield substation sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium, and High Voltage).
  • Develop design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, block diagrams, communications plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
  • Perform site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects.
  • Collaborate with designers and CADD technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications and requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • EIT certification (or ability to acquire certification within 6 months of employment).
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.
  • Desire to pursue growth and obtain Professional Engineer License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • EIT certification.
  • Highly proficient in using Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with electrical design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Prior experience with distribution systems, substation, and power facilities design and engineering is highly preferred.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package that promotes employee ownership, employee health, performance, and success. The expected compensation range for this position is $68,000-$80,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
