About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Caregiver/Direct Support Professional/DSP Day Program Coordinator. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and/or substance use needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in the community, promoting their independence and autonomy.
  • Assist individuals in identifying and communicating their needs and preferences, and implement services and supports to address their goals and desired outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and community partners.
  • Provide education on human rights, healthy living, and self-advocacy, and promote decision-making and choice.
  • Accompany individuals to community outings, teach independent living skills, and provide transportation to appointments.
  • Document care provided and maintain accurate records.
  • Understand and respect diverse challenges and use effective advocacy strategies.
  • Connect individuals with resources and opportunities for career development, education, and volunteerism.
  • Promote effective communication and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Meet all pre-employment screening requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to pull minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop.
  • Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Required to regularly stand and walk.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Must be able to talk and hear.
